Red wine made exclusively from a selection of the best Tempranillo grapes and endorsed by the Rioja Qualified Designation of Origin.
Red wine made exclusively from a selection of the best Tempranillo grapes from the vineyard, 100% destemmed and then fermented with a floating cap of pomace at a maximum temperature of 28ºC. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is kept in contact with the skins to obtain the structure and tannins necessary for its subsequent ageing for 18 months in American oak barrels.
Cherry red colour with ruby reflections. Aromas of roasted coffee and vanilla with notes of red fruit and a pleasant, distinctly sweet touch. Warm on the palate, long, persistent and very flavourful.
This wine is ideal for accompanying game meats, roasts, poultry and mature cheeses. It is recommended to serve at around 18ºC.
Marqués de Griñón™ are signature wines, created in the 1970s by Carlos Falcó y Fernández de Córdoba, who was considered the most renowned Spanish winemaker with international recognition and influence, and who was the 5th Marquis of Griñón.
Pagos de Familia Marqués de Griñón is a family-run business whose aim is to achieve excellence and a distinctive personality in the olive oils and wines it produces.
To achieve this, it relies on an ancient European tradition, the pago, which consists of producing olives or grapes separately, in situ, from an estate with uniform soil and microclimatic characteristics that characterize it as a distinct terroir.
It was Don Carlos Falcó who, from 1974 onwards, promoted this age-old agricultural tradition by giving it a new commercial dimension.
He set about making the Marqués de Griñón brand a global symbol of excellence in olive oil and wine. In fact, Pagos de Familia Marqués de Griñón has managed to position itself in the world's top lists for these two essential elements of Mediterranean food and culture.
