Marqués de Griñón Reserva 2017 is a unique wine made from Petit Verdot (35%), Syrah (29%), Cabernet Sauvignon (27%) and Graciano (9%) grapes.
Marqués de Griñón Reserva 2017 is a unique wine in the world, with 4 varieties that represent the trajectory of Don Carlos Falcó: Excellence.
This wine honours the legacy of Don Carlos Falcó y Fernández de Córdova, who had a lifetime of effort and dedication to Vinos de Pago. Made from Petit Verdot (35%), Syrah (29%), Cabernet Sauvignon (27%) and Graciano (9%), grown in the clay and limestone soils, owned by the family of the Marquis of Griñón since 1292 and protected under the Denomination of Origin Dominio de Valdepusa (Malpica del Tajo, Toledo).
Intense apricot red colour, bright and with intense garnets, very well covered in the robe, typical of a wine with a long life. Complex aromas on the nose, wisely combining ripe fruit with spicy, balsamic and floral notes. On the palate it is well balanced and tasty, silky, with smooth acidity and an abundance of ripe tannins, which give way to a fleshy and velvety mouthfeel.
This wine is the ideal companion for roasts, red meats, duck and game.
Marqués de Griñón™ are signature wines, created in the 1970s by Carlos Falcó y Fernández de Córdoba, who was considered the most renowned Spanish winemaker with international recognition and influence, and who was the 5th Marquis of Griñón.
Pagos de Familia Marqués de Griñón is a family-run business whose aim is to achieve excellence and a distinctive personality in the olive oils and wines it produces.
To achieve this, it relies on an ancient European tradition, the pago, which consists of producing olives or grapes separately, in situ, from an estate with uniform soil and microclimatic characteristics that characterize it as a distinct terroir.
It was Don Carlos Falcó who, from 1974 onwards, promoted this age-old agricultural tradition by giving it a new commercial dimension.
He set about making the Marqués de Griñón brand a global symbol of excellence in olive oil and wine. In fact, Pagos de Familia Marqués de Griñón has managed to position itself in the world's top lists for these two essential elements of Mediterranean food and culture.
