Organic extra virgin olive oil from L'Albagés (Lleida) produced with olives of the Arbequina variety and protected under Les Garrigues Designation of Origin.
Organic extra virgin olive oil from L'Albagés (Lleida) produced with Arbequina olives harvested in November, when temperatures are at their lowest and the fruit begins to change colour. This oil is protected under Les Garrigues Designation of Origin. On average, 6 kg. of Arbequina olives are needed to obtain 1 litre of L'Oli BIO Family Reserve.
On the nose it is a fruity, intense green oil with fresh and herbaceous touches and notes of green leaf, artichoke, fennel, subtle hints of mint and tomato plant. On the palate it has a smooth, light texture and is very well balanced, with a medium bitterness and moderate spiciness, highlighting green and herbaceous notes. The taste is fresh and clean, with a rather fruity finish.
Food pairing: Fresh salads, grilled vegetables, white fish, seafood, bread with tomato, lemon cream or mint ice cream.
Cuadrat Valley has won the Gran Producer Award for the Best Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil of the 2024/25 Harvest in the Bitter Green Fruity category.
The history of Cuadrat Valley is closely linked to that of Catalonia. In the late 1930s, fleeing the Spanish war, Sebastià Cuadrat Realp, originally from L'Albagés, left his grandmother's olive grove and settled in Bordeaux. Eighty years later, when an olive grove came up for sale in L'Albagés, his granddaughter, Evelyne Cuadrat Teycheney, decided to buy it. With her husband Patrick Teycheney and daughter Caroline, she decided to take up the family adventure from the point where history had left off.
Since 2014, the family has been acquiring plots of land, creating a 90-hectare estate, which they have structured and managed to follow the criteria of sustainable agriculture. Combining their taste for respect for tradition and innovation, their aim is to produce a premium extra virgin olive oil with Protected Designation of Origin Les Garrigues.
