The Arbequina Cooperative has been active for over a century. The main crops grown in Arbeca were olives, vines and cereals, as well as small vegetable garden produce, pulses, etc. for their own consumption. However, the production of olive oil has always been the main concern of the village's farmers.

Nowadays, in the region, the production sector is combined with tourism. For this reason, the company has an Oleotourism experience in which they carry out extra virgin olive oil tastings and guided tours.

The Arbequina Cooperative is one of the main producers of extra virgin olive oil of the Arbequina variety with Protected Designation of Origin Les Garrigues Oil. This was the first Protected Designation of Origin recognised in Spain (1975) and certified in 1996 by the European Union as a sign of recognition of the excellent quality of extra virgin olive oil from Catalonia.
