L.A. Competition

The Los Angeles International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition was the first international extra virgin olive oil competition to be held in the USA. In its early days, the competition had an impressive list of judges to taste the best domestic extra virgin olive oils. Over time, the competition was opened up to international oils, with oils from both the northern and southern hemispheres. Prizes are awarded according to the intensity of fruitiness, distinguishing between Delicate, Medium or Robust.
